Finally, A Family Website that Meets all your Family needs Launches in O`ahu!
Honolulu, HI (PRWeb) April 13, 2007 -- Ann Ravelo has founded AlohaParent.com, a new website, to fill an important niche for families on O`ahu. Based on the highly successful website, SBParent.com out of Santa Barbara, California, it offers practically everything a family needs.
Log onto AlohaParent.com and you'll see the list of services is endless. Not only does it list resources and highlight businesses, it also has classifieds, family events, parent chats, kids picks, contests, links to local theatres, news, sports, weather and a parent planner to help you stay organized. On the community level, AlohaParent.com highlights outstanding parents in the Mom's on the Move and Dad's Scoreboard pages. To keep families informed, newsletters filled with upcoming events, parent tips, business listings and fun ideas are sent out weekly.
"When I lived in Santa Barbara, I stumbled upon SBParent.com. I never had to look any further for family events or ideas. I loved that SBParent.com was more than just a website, it was community oriented, and that's exactly what I want to do--bring families and businesses together as a community." Says Ravelo. AlohaParent.com is currently organizing playgroups throughout the island. The playgroups will be free of charge for parents and a great way for parents to meet and discuss the joys of parenting.
In order to keep the site free for families, Ravelo together with partner Charity Reed, created a unique marketing venue especially for small and home-based businesses, giving businesses the opportunity to advertise without a big advertising budget. An annual listing in AlohaParent.com is less than the cost of a 2x2 newspaper ad and it comes with added bonuses, such as free e-coupons for local perks, last minute advertising in the weekly newsletter, or special, up-to-date stat analysis to help promote your business, plus a detailed business description and proper category placement, so parents can find them easily on the website.
Ravelo adds, "We're on the web, we're interactive and we can change and shift without the deadlines, printing fees and distribution costs that other publications have. We can reach out to communities that struggle to get heard and the small businesses that can't afford big advertising dollars. But the top and bottom line is Aloha. We do it for our keiki and the 'ohana in the spirit of Aloha - it's our name and we live up to it."
AlohaParent.com's mission is to make the lives of parents on O`ahu easier by providing a comprehensive, tasteful online information resource, and to maintain its local integrity by including articles and information submitted by parents in the community. The list of topics range from pregnancy, newborns, toddlers, preschool and up. The site is about giving families choices and clear information without distracting banner advertising or loud pop-up commercials. AlohaParent.com is affiliated with ParentClick.com. Ravelo and Reed believe in giving back to the community; therefore, the website is committed to donate a portion of its sales to a non-profit or project in need.
