Best Military Website Trends Detailed in New Report from the Web Marketing Association
West Simsbury, CT (PRWEB) April 3, 2008 -- WebAward08.org (http://www.webaward.org/bestwebsites.asp?gad=CLuN0dkDEgiWfXzHcjWjThi6nML_AyC33JU2) - The Web Marketing Association, host of leading website awards competition WebAwards, released the Internet Standards Assessment Report (ISAR) to help the military industry learn to create more effective and engaging websites.
"As the standard of excellence for websites continues to increase, consumers (and WebAward judges) are increasingly picky about what they consider to be an effective website," said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association, Inc. "Military Websites often seem to suffer from an overwhelming need to provide technical data and statistics. A growing number of sites are adding multimedia to help better explain their offerings without overwhelming."
The WebAwards competition judges military websites on seven criteria that combined create award-winning websites: ? Design ? Innovation ? Content ? Technology ? Interactivity ? Copywriting ? Ease of use Military Web sites joined the WebAwards in 2004. In 2007, military sites outperformed the ISAR index for the first time since joining the competition. These sites are strong in content, copywriting, and ease of use. They scored first across all industries in content scores and second overall in ease of use scores. Military sites score weakest in innovation and technology.
The 2007 WebAward for Best Military website went to Zugara Do Something Amazing.
Other past winners include: * 2006 Mullen for TodaysMilitary.com. * 2005 Department of Defense for Defense Department Transformation * 2004 United Defense and Weber Shandwick for V2C2 Electronic Press Kit (EPK) Companies and organizations wishing to have their military web site evaluated against the ISAR Index and be considered for a WebAward, which can help boost a Website's credibility and marketing efforts, can learn more at WebAward08.org (http://www.webaward.org/bestwebsites.asp?gad=CLuN0dkDEgiWfXzHcjWjThi6nML_AyC33JU2).
